HIGH SPEED DIESEL (HSD) DIGANTI DENGAN MARINE FUEL OIL (MFO)

Abstract: Caraka III/28 cargo is one of ship fleets belong to PT. Meratus. Firstly, the ship used the Speed Diesel fuel to start the engine; however, because of the increasing price of the industry oil because there is no subsidy from the government, the ship was modified to change the fuel with Marine Fuel Oil. The purpose of the change is to press or reduce the greater ship operating cost. The modification is done by adding electric heater in the fuel system on the ship. Having the modification will influence the machine performance in order that the time interval of getting the maintenance is shorter. The maintenance activities in fuel system on the ship are expected to maintain the function of the machine in the normal condition. So that it will not influence or disturb the process of ship operation.
The research was started by taking some data from the Engine Room jurnal to determine TTF from the component in the fuel system. Having seen the failed pattern, used FMECA work sheet will be determined the critical component in the system, in order that the block diagram can be made. Then, helped by Markov sulation, exponential distribution, One parameter can be found Lambda( ג ) from each component. the fuction of lambda to determined Reliability, Unreliability and MTTF component in the fuel oil system. After the reliability
Value from each component is known, by looking at the block diagram it can be seen the reliability value from each Sub System and the reliability value and the fuel oil system when it has not been modified, son that it will be known which system has better reliability value level.
The Economy analysis used net present value to idetify wheather the modified system is more beneficial economically than the unmodified system.
